In quite recent times, it has been learned that the creator of two new tomato varieties introduced in Sicily in 1989 is a seed company: the Naomi cherry and the Rita cherry bunch.
In addition to the characteristic shape, a peculiarity of these tomatoes immediately jumped to the eye, is the unaltered freshness after harvesting for a period of 2-3 weeks, much longer compared to the tomatoes until then known.
In a few years this new product gained great popularity.
With a characteristic "cherry" appearance, it contains significant quantities of lycopene, excellent post-harvest strength and high sugar content.
It is recommended on toasted bread and on croutons, as well as to enrich and enhance different courses
